Farm Box hails as Grand Winner of DICT's Philippine Startup Challenge 2021

After winning as the regional champion and becoming representative of Region IV-A CALABARZON, Farm Box won as Grand Winner of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Philippine Startup Challenge 2021, November 17.

Twenty-five (25) different startups from different regions in the Philippines competed for the title during the video pitching and live Q&A during the celebration of the Philippine Startup Week 2021.

Farm Box is a social enterprise dedicated to uplifting the lives of local farmers by providing all agricultural supplies, agricultural solutions, and the customers for the produce.

DICT made a change on this year's PSC by opening a Professional Category in the competition. For the past years, PSC is only for students who want to pursue their startup idea and accelerate through their grants and programs.

"We are very happy that we have won. Kahit we are just starting, our solution to help our farmers ay na-recognize and this win will help accelerate Farm Box and extend our help to more farmers," said Lester Mendoza, Farm Box CEO.

The win gives Farm Box access to DICTs Grant Fund worth 500,000.00 pesos, $25,000-worth of Huawei Cloud Solutions, and Huawei products.

"Also the competition also proves that we have so many good solutions to improve our agriculture. Among the top 5, 3 of which are agriculture-related solutions. I hope na mas marami pa tayong maging solutions for our farmers." ended Mendoza.
